Vol. 4 No. 2 (2025): December

This issue Vol. 4 No. 2, December 2025 – Journal of Engineering and Science presents a collection of applied engineering research centered on structural construction practices, predictive maintenance methodologies, specialized tool development, and vehicle component durability analysis. The first article documents the practical implementation of column formwork systems for high-rise construction, specifically examining work procedures and challenges encountered during the 10th floor construction phase of the Sky House Alam Sutera Phase 3 project, contributing valuable field insights for vertical building execution. The second article advances electrical asset management through the integration of Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) testing with breakdown voltage measurements and fuzzy logic methods to diagnose transformer oil degradation, enabling more accurate failure prediction and preventive maintenance scheduling in power distribution systems. The third article addresses a specific industrial need through the design and fabrication of a hydraulic transmission jack tailored for heavy-duty truck maintenance operations, demonstrating practical engineering solutions for specialized service equipment. The fourth and fifth articles both focus on fatigue life prediction of automotive suspension components using strain-life approaches, examining coil springs and lower suspension arms in different vehicle categories—heavy-duty trucks and minibuses—thereby contributing to enhanced vehicle safety, maintenance planning, and component design optimization. Collectively, this issue reflects a pragmatic research orientation that bridges construction site realities, condition-based maintenance technologies, custom tooling innovation, and data-driven durability assessment—underscoring the journal's commitment to engineering research that directly supports industrial practice, infrastructure reliability, and operational safety.
